APPENDIX E

Neuschafer Community Library Use Policy

Adopted 2/6/1996

The Neuschafer Community Library is just that, a library. It is not a repository of a valuable collection of materials. It is not a meeting room. It is not available for uses outside normal operations except in the following situations:

1. The Library Board may hold meetings in the Library.

2. The Village Board President or any Village Trustee can request permission from the Library Director to use the library for government purposes only. A completed request for Library Use Form must be filled out and returned to the Library Director before permission can be given. The forms are either available from the library staff or from the Village Clerk. In an emergency, the Village Board President may request use of the library by phoning the Library Director at home and taking personal responsibility for the condition of the library and its materials. Either the President or another village trustee appointed by the President must be present in the library at all times when the library is open for Village use.

3. Other community groups can request permission from the Library Director to use the library only when the village meeting room and multi-purpose room are both unavailable.

However, a member of the library staff must be present and compensated for the hours use. A completed Request for Library Use Form must be filled out and returned to the Library Director before permission can be given. The forms are available either from library staff or from the Village Clerk.
